Simple Mapping in seconds. The Phoenix AL2 is a complete LIDAR package designed for the medium range mobile mapping market. A result of 4 years of extensive research and development, the AL2 is engineered for maximum precision, weight optimization, and cross-platform flexibility. The final point cloud can be imported in various software packages and used to measure distances, surfaces and volumes; reconstruct 3d models, plan maintenance work, compare against previous maps etc.
Phoenix Aerial Systems Aerial LIDAR 2 (AL2)
Measuring only 14 x 22 x 18 cm and weighing less than 6kg, the AL2 is one of the lightest survey-grade mobile mapping systems on the market. Do not, however, be fooled by its small size: the AL2 combines some of the most precise navigation system, LIDAR, and computing technology available.
Processing over 700,000 points per second with a 360° * 40° field of view, the Velodyne HDL-32E LIDAR sensor captures enough data to allow the UAV to fly at speeds up to 60 mph (100 km/h) and maintain incredible pointcloud density.
What makes the AL2 system truly unique is the software: during the entire flight, the pilot can visualize the growing point cloud on a computer screen in real time; with this data, the pilot can locate areas yet to be scanned and quickly alter the UAV’s course.
